Our sweet cousin, Courtney, lives in the Tyler surrounding area and recommended the Foundry Coffee House for us to visit. We were visiting on a Sunday, which is a hard day to visit coffee shops seeing that most are closed on that day. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is great for shops to take a day to go to church and relax, but it does make it a little difficult to find one open on a Sunday traveling day. That is why we are so grateful for Courtney and her recommendation. The Foundry is a cool place and it is nestled in a cool area!
Here’s what you need to know about The Foundry Coffee House in Tyler:
Appearance? This place is SPACIOUS, which is amazing to fit whatever needs you may have when going there. The coffee shop is in Bethel Bible Church and it is a non-profit that gives back to local and overseas organizations. The shop has a separate entrance from the church and has plenty of nooks and crannies for you to find the perfect spot. Even though this coffee shop is in a rather large space, they do a good job adding homey touches so it doesn’t just feel like a big warehouse space. I love the use of wood and metal and the cool, unique art pieces around the shop. I think that having live plants in the coffee house adds to the warmth of the place.
Do I come here to chill, study, or socialize? You can definitely find a place in this shop for all three of these things! There is even an outdoor area for sitting on pretty days. Whether you are with a big group, with a friend chatting, or by yourself, you’ll find a long table, a bar space, or a cozy couch to lounge in.
Coffee? The two main roasters that they work with are Porch Culture from Tyler and Oak Cliff from Dallas. We love that they use local roasters! I ordered the roast that they had that day and loved the earthy tones. I had been driving all day, so it did a great job keeping me awake! Madison and Kaylee split the affogato, which is always a sweet treat! They loved the ice cream with the strong expresso.
Drive thru? There’s no drive thru here, but there’s plenty of parking spaces in the parking garage right across the street.
Food? They have food! This shop had some yummy looking pie and pastry options as well as soup, salad, and sandwich options.
What stands out about this shop? My favorite part about this shop is its purpose. I think that it is amazing that it is a non-profit for local and overseas organizations! The heart behind this shop is something that you can’t help but love and want to support!!
