Welcome, welcome, welcome to our NEW WEBSITE!
You truly do not know how excited we are to announce to you our very own domain and website. When we started this blog, there is no possible way we would have ever expected to even get to this place. What started as a simple hobby and something we liked to do as sisters has turned into something much bigger than ourselves. We believe that the passions that we have, for Texas and Coffee, and the events that have all led up to the point of us starting this blog have all been given to us through The Lord’s great kindness. We know that Jesus has a perfect plan for our lives, this journey, and our blog, and we cannot wait to see how He continues to work through us and through this opportunity we have been given by Him. The process of getting this website up and running has not been an easy one but now that the unveiling is upon us, it is so incredibly worth it! We wanted to launch our new website in a special and meaningful way that would display our excitement and heart behind the blog but also be super fun! We had a few friends over that have been very supportive and encouraging during this blog journey we have been on to celebrate our new website. Something that we wanted to be extremely evident during our get-together and something that we wish to be evident now with you reading this as well, is fact that we wouldn’t be where we are right now if it wasn’t for Jesus. We three believe that we, by ourselves, are extremely broken people. I am reminded every single day that I am a broken person by what I do, what I say and what I think. As gloomy as that sounds, it is very true. BUT the good news is that through our brokenness, as human beings, Christ shines through. Since we have chosen to surrender our lives to Jesus, knowing that we can not do anything to get to Him on our own (no amount of good works or money could ever get us there), His goodness shines through our brokenness. Without Him I would not have a purpose driven life.
During Madison’s prayer group last year (Shoutout to LEAH HALE), they did an amazing activity that displayed Christ’s light shining through our brokenness in a cool and tangible way. We thought it would be a wonderful activity to do to celebrate our new website because it consisted of the two most important things for us going forward. Each person took a coffee mug and smashed it into many pieces. This was to represent the brokenness in each of our lives. After you break the coffee mug you proceed to hot glue or super glue the mug together. This symbolizes what Jesus does in our lives. He heals and restores our broken souls. Even after this is done the mug still does not look perfect by any means. The coffee mug has cracks and scratches. Isn’t that just like us? Even as followers of Jesus we are not perfect, I’m not perfect by a LONG shot. But even though we still fail and make mistakes, Jesus’ grace is sufficient for us. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 it says,“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” The next part of the verse says, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” We can be okay with not being perfect because that is simply an opportunity for us to show off the grace and power of Jesus. The next part of the activity is my favorite because it describes this fact perfectly. You simply put a tea candle in your mug and light it. The light from the small candle shines through all of the cracks and open spaces in the mug, just as Christ does in our lives. The verse that we used to verbalize this was Matthew 5:16 that says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” We encourage any of you that do not have a relationship with Christ and are reading this to please reach out to us if you have any questions at all about doing so.
We are pumped and lit (get the joke?) to see all that God has planned for Coffee Over Texas and beyond. Thank you so much for being apart of our journey and adventuring with us to explore our awesome State and the different coffee shops that it has to offer!
Love, Allie, Madison, and Kaylee Boykin
